Return to school on 8th March

Dear Families,

Back to school… again 😊

Following yesterday’s announcement, we are delighted that we will be welcoming the rest of our children back to school on 8th March.  Once again it seems such a long time since we were all together.  I know that many of you will be concerned as to whether it is safe to send your child to school and I would like to reassure you that we will continue to do everything feasible to reduce the risk of spreading infection in school and make your child’s time in school as safe as we can. We will be reverting back to our arrangements before Christmas with the same staggered start/finish times as before and with staff mainly connected to one bubble.

Year R             8.45am  – 2.55pm

Donaldson     8.55am – 3.05pm

Seuss/Dahl     9am – 3.10pm

Between now and 8th March teachers will be working to redesign our curriculum for when the children return.  The expectation is that all children will have completed the home learning however we are aware that each child’s lockdown experience will all be different and not all children will have accessed all the remote learning to the same degree as their friends; there will inevitably be gaps and our curriculum needs to have the flexibility to support this.

I intend to write again next week with more detail on children’s return to school, information about World Book Day, Instagram and children’s safety online.  In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns around your child’s return to school, please contact your class teacher through the class email address or me through the school office.  We will update our Return to School Risk Assessment and will publish this on our website within the week.

Please take care and be assured that your child’s wellbeing continues to be our highest priority.  See you on the 8th!
